Hey Guys,

Today I installed Windows 8.1 for the first time.Everything went great, no problems. I went to change the default instal directory via the regedit exe. (I did instal softwares before doing so).

I have a SSD where I instal the OS and steam etc

+ a HDD for other soft that does not need that much speed.

I reboot my PC and now, I can't open any software installed on the HDD neither I can open regedit anymore. recovery system won't open either. It seems like every system exe does not work or won't just open. Itried many ways to acces regedit again but I have the message "Windows can't find regedit.exe"

I can't perform a re-instal via the PC settings icon, it wont just do anything.

SO, what are my solutions...it sucks hard.

Thanks guys

Sounds like you fucked up your $PATH environment variable. Reinstall windows.

I'd Like to reinstal it. But how can I re-instal it whjen I don't have a USb bootdrive, I don't have acces to re-instal windiws via the PC settings and I don't have the CD. only the ISO file DLed from windows store and this one, won't launch either!

How did you install it to begin with?

I was on Seven, I installed it directly with the file donwloaded via the Microsoft store. that same file won't open anymore.

For info, I am performing a windows update and it is installing the update on the HDD instead of the SDD. With chance, it might install regedit again and then and acces to the system exe files, I might have access so I can perform the re-instal of the OS

Apparently, the update handle the problem, I could access to regedit and put the settings back. So, voila!
