I need to get wifi from my grandparents, cause they have optic fiber and it doesn't get to my house.

I was planning on using one 5830B, but I dont know if I need a 5ghz router to use a 5ghz antena!

open to suggestiongs!

5Ghz is not very long range, 2,4Ghz will reach further if you use 5ghz you need a 5ghz compatible wifi card.

Depending on the usage, but true.

What is the distance between you and your grandparents. My suggestion is that you get real equipment, and not consumer based WiFi routers. For you to take any advantage of that fiber optic connection, you will need to use proper gear. There are a few options. However they are not cheap, ideally you would need to spend around $200 USD.

What you need is a 5Ghz Outdoor Wireless AP, Ubiquiti has some good products which are fairly easy to setup, but I would also suggest something like the Mikrotik SXT series, specifically MikroTik RBSXTG-5HPnD-SAr2 because it has a gigabit port and a while back Mikrotik developed a special protocol nv2 which will make sure you get almost 0 interference.

However Mikrotik devices are a little harder to setup, but once you succeed you won't be disapointed. Now the model I suggested is a little more expensive but it can reach pretty crazy speeds, somewhere around 300Mbps. There are other cheaper models like this one but they can only reach around 100Mbps.

If you provide more details like the distance, expected speeds, obstacles between you and your grandparents. I could help you a little more.
