Owning a Haf XB I have limited options for Radiators.
With only 1x120 on the rear and 2x140/120 in the front.
I'm genuinely thinking of getting a AIO with a thick rad and replacing the fans for the CPU cooling and the fattest possible rad I can fit deterrent front and GPU (62mm so unfortunately Monstas out).
another option is possibly running it through separate runs and use a double res (intending too anyway but without using the joiner)
Also the aesthetics of separate clean straight runs appeals to me as it should help me annihilate all diagonals 

Any thoughts and opinions on the matter? would going for a hybrid AIO and custom Loop be reasonable?
Doing separate runs to isolate the water?
Or having it all in one system?

I'm intending this to be a crossfired 7970 build as well if it matters (depending on effectiveness of CF fix on 31st)

If you have a custom loop then you might as well add the component in your AIO loop to your custom loop.

 

OR are you talking about adding components to an AIO loop? Most AIO pumps are not strong enough to support extra components.

The concept is to have a AIO cooling the CPU only, and then a custom Loop cooling the GPU's

The concept is to have a AIO cooling the CPU only, and then a custom Loop cooling the GPU's 

You can easily add a CPU waterblock and a 240 rad to your loop. It would cost around the same, and look cleaner.

I know this, I'm just curious on if it'd be better to have the CPU and 2x7970's on seperate loops due to the limited radiator space. or if one loop really is the best for cooling.

Two loops could be better but you are limiting the radiators they can use. In a CPU intensive task the CPU can't use the radiators for the GPUs while the GPUs are idling and that rad space isn't being used.

 

You will also have a dilemma when deciding which radiators to use to use for what loop.

Actually I'd use the 120 for CPU and then a 280 for the GPU's as they get a lot hotter from personal experiences.

As long as you're not using a 120x80x120 you'll have problems if you want to overclock

Lol I deffos don't intend to use the 80mm. But i might fit a 2x120 there with modding I just realised. Access to airflow would be an issue but.
