If you physically broke it, then you would need to spend alot in order to get it recovered so I would suggest you just buy a new one.

Does the drive function at all? Like, if you plug it in, is it recognized?

They desolder the memory chip, plug it in a proprietary chip reader and try to access the files from there.   You can't do it yourself.   

 

Well you could, if you had advanced knowledge in memory chip interfaces.  But obviously that  is not the case here.  =P
