So a couple of friends, my roommate and I like to play lots of games together, and when we do we use skype.

The problem is that everytime my roommate and I are in the same skype call with our friends, my mic, and only mine, never his wont pick up sound unless i speak very loud and directly in to the mic(Have to have it allmost inside my mouth!). but his pick sound up perfectly, even picks up my voice if i raise it to like a medium/highish level.

And if its only me in the call then mine works perfectly..

My headset is a Sennheiser Pc 350 SE, roommates headset is a Logitech G35

Anyone out there that can help me out here?

have you made sure to set up the microphone in windows before using it?

Could be that the frequencies are not traveling enough through caused by voltage loss or driver issue. (Or current flow reduce correct me if I'm wrong)..

What your mic does is pick up your 3.4kHz voice and translates it into whatever the company set the gain of the mic to be at. It comes with sensitivity which decides which or when the sound is picked up which could be lowered by drivers (sound card??? Maybe).. And other technical stuff.

The thing is it could be a driver issue. Now I don't know if it's a USB headset or 3.5mm but Sennheiser are known to push out 3.5mm jack.

Try to connect your headset to another computer to check if the problem persists there. If it does it's either a cable problem or the headset themselves are defected and I guess you don't know the technicallity within to be able to get in a position where you can be fixing a microphone or the chip inside your headphones. So RMA them if it does.

If it doesn't, that means it's either your PC or windows rejecting you.. Could go away some time..

Or.. Check skype settings?..
