Hello forum people, I would like to build a new PC. I received a little over $4k from my tax return, so I want to build a good rig. Obviously I don't want to spend all $4k on the computer, I still have to purchase my golf season pass so I would say my budget is $2500 - $3500 but lower is better. I have a few old monitors, The one I plan on using is 1680x1050. The computer will be used for work such as Microsoft documents and gaming. I play games such as Battlefield but my nephew lives with me too and he plays a lot of GTA5 and call of duty (he's 12). I have an old mouse and keyboard but would like to upgrade those if you can fit them in my budget. I don't need speakers, I have a 12.2 system set up already. I don't need windows either my nephew says he can do that for free. i was looking at getting an alien-ware area 51 but I'm not too sure if it's worth it. I heard building myself will save 50% and I'm a quick learner so I could build it myself easily. I would also like to have more monitors hooked up to the computer so I don't need to alt tab all the time. I heard AMD has cores for this task. Anyway thanks for your help and I would like to see the builds you come up with!

Also a side note, I would like to build it this weekend. I won't be purchasing parts online, as my local store can price match.

Hmm, if you MUST build it now, then i recommend this (i can't use PC part picker right now, busy):

CPU: i7 4790k

CPU Cooler: Air cooling: Noctua NH D15; Water cooling: X61

Mobo: Asus/Gigabyte/MSI/AsRock Z97 (Gaming 5 looks nice)

SSD: Crucial <<< SSD IS VERY IMPORTANT

HDD: Seagate/WD

RAM: 8Gb 1600Mhz (2x4Gb)

Case: Your personal choice

GPU: Since you're buying right now, then 980 (or 970 SLI, but for SLI you need an SLI compatible mobo, like gaming 5)

PSU: EVGA 750G2

Now, peripherals are tricky. A few months ago i had some money, and i thought about buying G710+, but i didn't want to drop so much money on a keyboard i never tried, so i got an old mechanical keyboard and used it a little. I personally think that the difference doesn't warrant such a price difference.

If you want mechanical, i heard good stuff about CM Storm :)

You have not mentioned wanting to overclock, so I have put together a high performance system that will not overclock. I have included a higher resolution monitor. The gpu can handle up to four monitors.
