Okay, so this will be my first time building a pc while having a lot of money:

The one I have right now is from summer 2012 and I bought it from Komplett (kinda our NCIX in Norway) for 10200NOK (1360USD today). I didn´t know much about computers back then and I didn´t have the money to buy what I wanted, so I failed a little to be honest.

The setup I have now is a 4k screen and a Full HD screen with this computer:

AMD FX-8350

ASUS M5A97 R2.0, Socket-AM3+

Corsair CX 430W

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950

CM Storm Trooper Gaming Big Tower

And I can´t remember what RAM I bought, but I have 8GB

Cooler Master Seidon 120M

Some harddrives and a 120SSD

As you can see, it´s not that great for 4k gaming. I´m pretty confident in my pc-part skills right now, but I´m posting here just to be sure.

This is the build I´m planning right now 17600NOK (2350USD today) :

3 of the parts I´m looking at is the cheapest on the marked here in Norway: Motherboard, RAM and the case.

I will be reusing my old harddrives and probably my SSD.

Should I buy a new cooler (the one I have the build I´m planning), or should I reuse my old?

And I´m also thinking about buying the "In Win 703 Midi Tower" instead of Fractal Design, just to save some money.

What do you guys think? Keep in mind that I want it to have a beast while still saving as much as I can. I want it to be a little future proof compared to the one I have now :)

Thank you all in advance!

Try  SLI GTX 970s. They perform better than a 980.

Won´t that lead to more heat, power consumption and a higher cost?

I'd go for a Black and white Graphics card, the red will just stand out and wont look all that attractive.

The In Win case is a little red, so I don´t mind :)

But future proofing, 1x 980 will outlast 2x 970's because the 980 has newer architecture.

SLI 970s will give you a good deal more performance for about the same money.

The difference in price here in Norway is 1500NOK (200 dollar) and I don´t think I´m willing to pay for that.

In that case, the GTX 980 should work as long as you're not doing any hardcore gaming.

2 970's are $877 AUD, ( Galax GeForce GTX 970 Black Edition)

1 980 is $729 AUD ( Galax GeFroce GTX 980 SOC)

Thats $184 AUD I could put towards a nice monitor, or another SSD or HDD, @ 970's will produce more heat, and don't give that much of a performance difference, plus you will have a spare PCI slot, for future expansion, as you see, ou'll save more with 1 980.
