Been going back and forth dozens of times between this an an i5-3570k. Can't wait long enough for Haswell, and don't really want a dead socket. Figure i'll bet the farm on future steamroller, and with next gen consoles running 8 core cpus, games becoming more optimized for 8 cores.

Opinions? I'll upgrade the CPU cooler at some point down the road, either to an H100i or H220. Already have case/monitor/peripherals.

Thanks guys, just wanted another set of eyes before I go ahead. Conveniently enough, tax return dropped in this morning.

Spent the better part of 6-8 months now, stuck with a single core Athlon 64 system...previous Core 2 Duo E6600 took a dump, and haven't had the funds to fix/replace it til now. It'll be nice having something with some actual performance again.
