Hey everyone,

I have a question. I have been looking at college majors and I want to major in something involing computers but also something that is in high demand. I see all of these different majors when I click on the computer/scince catagory on most college websites.

Such as:

Computer Science

Computer Engineering

Information Systems

nformation Technology

Software Engineering

Now I like fixing computers hardware/software wise. Repairing is one of my favorite things to do. Also building a computer is something I really enjoy. I'm not to good at coding eithier. But my question to you guys is which one of these majors apply to my interest? Or is there a major I missed.

Compsci will give you the most options on what specifically you want to pursue later on so..

Computer Engineering would suit you if you are really into hardware etc.

Information Technology and Information Systems are what you are after. Computer Science is for the most part more coding based while the two I said have to do with directly working with computers and networks.

Computer Science has the biggest market at the moment I believe.

Computer Engineering would appear to suit your interests the best.

I'm actually majoring in something called Management Information Systems at my school's business school. Supposed to combine business education with an IT education. I would do CompEngi but I'm not a math wiz which engineering fields needs.

Bottom line: if you're interested in any of the engineering fields, no matter which one it may be, you will  enter a great market for careers. That's how engineering in general is.

This, OP.

I was a Comp Sci major this year, and I've decided to switch to Information Systems, you're probably looking for a similiar career to me.
