Need help restoring contacts

So my phone has been bugging out a bit lately, so naturally i want to do a factory reset to make the issues go away. I transferred all of my pictures to the sd card and backed up contacts to the sim card, and both gmail accounts. Now that its all booted up, NONE of my contacts were backed up even though it synced and said they were backed up. Can anyone help?

Go to settings > Accounts > Google > (Your Account (youraccount@gmail.com)) > drag the contacts slider to the right to enable syncing contacts.

If they were backed up correctly they should all appear within about a minute.
