First let me just say that I understand what I am doing. I know the risks of overclocking laptops and know that it is stupid but I just want to see what I can do with a old computer that half the parts are dead. Please just help.

I am planning on overclocking a laptop and unfortunately neither the mobo nor CPU is unlocked to do it. I do not want to flash an alternate BIOS but I have heard of multiple software options to get around the restrictions. I have a dell with a core 2 duo at 1.6ghz and just want to see what I can do. Does anyone have experience with software like this? What would you recommend?

Thanks a lot!

I was gonna say if you had an AMD APU you could use K10Stat, but for intel I have no idea.

Good luck cooling sucker if you find anything...though the results would be pretty interesting. I remember hearing stories of people overclocking i7 macbook pros and putting custom heatsinks on them as portable workstation replacements.
