Can you use your iGPU for folding? Or does it automatically do that?

Will an AMD Semperon 145 do fine for a folding rig?

970 or 290x for a folding rig?

I also need help picking a few parts for my folding rig (I posted this in the planning builds sub-forum, but no one replied. I also think people here could find me a better answer)

1 IGPU no! you can use the cpu to fold

2 Yes

3 Both :) but the 290X will produce more ppd

4 AMD Semperon 145, 4gb of ram, the 970 or 290X a decent 650W PSU and a 60gb hdd will do the trick. and buy a cheap case.

Do you know of any high airflow cases that are cheap?

Will the stock cooler do fine? F@H uses ~20% of my 4690K even while I'm only GPU folding.

Yes i have 2 waterblocks in my 2 systems! i will recommend it strongly. but the main question is will you fold and OC the cpu? if not do not bother waist of money.

I might fold with the chrome app. How is it a waste of money if I'm not doing the CPU? I'm talking about the HG10 btw.

i don't think it will keep up when it needs more than 4ish gb of v ram in games, maybe if you went crossfire. If sli or crossfire for games get 980 or wait for the ti or 390x.

Just to clarify, the chrome app is cpu only. If you want to do gpu

folding that will be in the desktop Client.

Unless you have piles of AIO coolers just lying around i personally

wouldn't bother getting the HG10 either.
