Battery Leak?

Hey guys!

 

 So I was working on a clay-mation and for some reason i put my phone battery in the play doh can... I put the play doh back without remembering the battery and i just found it and the play doh completely ate away at the metal surrounding the battery and its giving off a very sweet smell, I can smell it right now and its about two feet away from me. Is this any hazard to me???

If it's a lithium ion battery you need to put it somewhere safe.. they can and do burn / explode.

Damaged batteries can go off like this.. and can cause fires..
