I have an inspiron 1525. Judging from pictures the hard drive tray is in the same spot: to the left of the touchpad. there are probably a couple screws on the bottom with an HDD icon next to them which will loosen the tray, from there you can just slide it out. Just make sure you don't get an SSD that is wider that the HDD already in there though.

No reason it shouldn't, it uses a standard 2.5" drive. I don't beleive it uses msata however, so you'll probably need an SSD that is not msata. I'm not 100% on that so it's good to check. as, mentioned make ssure it's not wider/thicker than the current HDD in there.

Quite sure you can. And if you can, I would go with a hybrid drive as well, like the seagate momentus xt. But of course, a pure SSD is nice. Lol.

ssd is faster, hybrid has more space for less

The momentus xt hybrid drive has 8 GB of an 'ssd' with either a 500GB or 750GB of your standard hdd. its like having a normal hdd with a small cache drive.

Well, the SSD will always beat a hybrid or a hard drive of that matter.
