Hey guys :) so i posted something similar to this earlier and i discussed what cables are used when connecting my monitor to my graphics card because previously i was using a VGA cable from my mainboard,

well i want to know,
why isnt my monitor recognizing the HDMI cable i put into the GPU and then into the monitor ? when i take VGA out, it says "VGA no signal" and when i plug the HDMI cable into the back of the monitor and the GPU, literally NOTHING happens and I cant figure out why...Should i just buy a DVI-D cable and use that ? please no hate :\ Im still trying to learn

I have a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 (not the G1 edition) and yes i have done that, i dont understand why the monitor wont recognize the GPU is there, Should i just buy a DVI-D ?

ok so what kind of psu you have? have you tried to see if you need to manually switch to hdmi on your monitor settings some monitors dont automatically pick up the signal and start displaying the image

I have a Corsair 750CX PSU, and when i try and change the display settings on the monitor, the drop down box allows the following:

1. VE248

2. VE248

3. Display device on: VGA

and thats it, no HMDI setting is available :\

Yes, the VGA cable is unplugged from the monitor AND the mainboard, its so confusing :(

is the gpu atleast booting up like lights up and the fans spin?? also might sound stupid but possibility did you check that you plugged it into an hdmi port and not DP port they seem really similiar so its an possibility. also would like to add that you know that gtx970 has  6pin and 8pin connectors and you need both of them plugged there

Both 8Pin and 6Pin connectors are in and the fans spin when the computer boots up, i tried turning the system off and rebooting it with only the HMDI cables in it to see if it made a difference, and it didnt :\ the computer booted up, the screen went black and said 'VGA no signal'',

its as if i HAVE to use the VGA cord...
