Asus Xonar DSX

Hello Everyone,

*Disclaimer - I do not have these issues if I use the onboard realtek.*

Looking for some help with my Asus Xonar DSx 7.1.  To get this out of the way, for whatever reason with this new build, I cannot for the life of me get this card to cooperate.  With that said, the primary issue I am having is getting the card to actually play out of all five speakers.  I have my Logitech Z-5500's connected to this card.  Doing a little google work, I determined that in order to get all the speakers to work, I needed to go into the Windows sound settings and physically change the card from 5.1 to stereo.  This worked for a couple of songs and then all of sudden something changed.  Now what seems to be happening is either 4 speakers play (no center channel) or two speakers play (no center channel).  I noticed that when I was able to get all 5 speakers playing, bass was extremely low.  With that said, whatever setting got changed, the bass increased and I lost either one or three speakers playing.  Let me break down some settings;

Xonar DSX Audio Center:

- Audio Channel = 2

- Sample Rate = 96 khz

- Analog out = 5.1

Itunes:

Bit Rate = 44.1

Bits per sample = 16

Play Audio - Windows

Quicktime:

- Rate = 44.1

- Size = 16

- Channels - Stereo

Now, when talking about the Windows settings the following occurs.  The settings above still apply.  If I made the following change, all 5 speakers will play, with a low bass and then my right surround speaker will cut out and only 4 speakers will play.

Windows:

- Audio Channels - Stereo (defaults or other settings

- 24 bit or 16 bit

- 48000 hz / 44100

Does anyone have any experience with getting this card to play nice with the Z5500's?  I didn't have these issues with my G51's.

Thanks

I actually just installed the UNi Drivers.  So far its seems to be working.  I have 5 speakers working and it seems my bass is back.  I actually have two of these cards, one running on a 3770k system with Asus drivers without issues and then this system (x99) which doesn't work with Asus drivers but the Uni drivers.  Very strange to me.

Well, I think I can work with these uni drivers.  Everything seems to be working just fine now.  I have added a bookmark to my driver folder so I can remember these.

Thanks for your help tech.
