Does overclocking beyond 4.4 ghz void your warranty?

Does overclocking beyond 4.4 ghz void your warranty? I saw that on the i1 evo ncix pc linus said that 4.4ghz is factory overclocked and it won't void your warranty? Will I void my warranty if I overclock it >4.4ghz on the 3770k?

I think that might be the NCIX warranty and not the Intel warranty...only a guess. Someone please correct if wrong.

I suggest if u plan on overclocking beyond factory overclock and WANT some Type of Protection i suggest getting the intel overtune Plan..

basically its overclocking protection

but yes as i believe from the previous guy its a NCIX warranty not Intel. as intel offically doesnt support overclocking outside their tuning plan. Heres the link to it below

In most cases doesn't overclocking in general void your warranty?

So the plan is 3 years and it goes along with your standard warranty of 3 years?

yes it goes along with your 3year warranty. doesnt extend it. its just extra insurance basically of a 1-time replacement of the CPU if it fails outside of Intels Specs (basically overclocking). Usually from overvolting it to death.

Only downside is you have to have purchased the Processor within 1year of getting the plan. (so you cant get the plan 2years down the road.).

Is it possible to buy it again after you used up your 1 time replacement?

Yeah but that isn't warranty that comes with a chip that is extra warranty.

Worth while if you're pushing your chip to its limits. But generally speaking overclocking at all would void your warranty.

any overclock will void the warranty, both ncix and intel. just remember, what they dont know wont hurt them.

Linus was talking about the systems NCIX sell, those are overclocked by them, so they will replace your cpu anyways in case sometimes happens.

99 times out of a 100 its your motherboard you kill by over volting rather than the cpu

this is very true. i killed my last motherboard running my mobo run at 215 FSB (was a AMD based build). for about a year. Degraded the hell out of the motherboard.
