Ok so im going to be building my first pc in the near future and was just wondering on this partlist. At first i was going to go with an i5 but decided to go with an i7 since i would be doing some editing and the i7 will be more benificial. Also i was looking to get an NH-D15 but dont know if there is a better performance boost in comparison to the NH-D14. Anyway thanks in advance for the advice.

It looks good but I think you would benefit by going with a 2-3TB HDD.  A Xeon E3 1230 is an alternative to that i7 if you want the i5 price.  (not sure about UK prices)

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

I would be doing a bit of gaming aswell. Would there be a difference between the xeon and i7?

No except that you cannot overclock.

not really. if you are comparing the processors at stock it will be really small difference.

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

What's the system primarily used for and what kind of editing are you doing?

It will mostly be used for heavy video editing and graphic edits.

Please elaborate--what kind of content are you working on and what programs are you using?

Kept it red themed as well with the cooler which will beat the 212 Evo hands down for less money (red + white fan), red RAM, red accents on board, red accents on MSI 970

Ill be working on 3d animation so After Effects, C4D, Photoshop and Premier.

Are you working from a NAS or something of the sort? 120GB isn't much space to work off of as a scratchdisk and 1TB isn't much space you're really doing 'heavy video editing'.
