Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD error.

Hi there. I am encountering a problem with my PC. I was playing TS3 when suddenly my computer froze. I turned it off by the PSU and switched it on again. It booted up nice and fine until it froze again on the Windows 8.1 logo. I restarted it again, but now my PC is stuck in the BIOS part, and something went up.

It said: Sec Slave Hard Disk:S.M.A.R

T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace. Press F1 to resume.

What does this mean? Help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is, it freezes on the Windows loading screen and forces you to restart it. Anything else?

Get a secondary HDD and an external HDD enclosure or sata to USB bridge install a Linux bootdisc or something lightweight and copy the partition from your main drive to the new secondary drive?

Thanks. But sadly the PC no longer detects the hard drive.

Thanks. But sadly the PC no longer detects the hard drive.

If it's not showing in bios doesn't mean it isn't detected; if it has unallocated the space the disc will not show up as there is nothing on there.

To check if it is still detected run the windows installation media and check if it is detected and is requesting to be formatted.

Still no. It's also not listed in the media installation. I don't know what to do now.
