Hi,

So i'm gonna head to Japan soon and one of my destination is Akihabara which according to guide is an electronic goods heaven.

So my question is this, if during my travel there i bought a Corsair K70 Brown or any other PC parts from one of the shops there, and after a while there's a problem with it, can i claim for warranty from Malaysia or do i have to send the keyboard back to Japan for warranty?

Hopefully, its the former otherwise would it be worth the hassle to send the keyboard back?

Thanks in advance

Depends on manufacturer. Most will have local office to deal with warranty. They reguire your receipts for purchase and you to send the things. But otherwise should be ok. You can always contact them and ask about it. I just RMA'd my Sennheiser CX-300 II bought in Yodobashi superstore in Japan and got full replacement no problems. Just had to send them to local office.

Local office meaning Sennheiser's office in your country right and not the local office in Japan?

Its really depends, some do some don't; I bought a Toshiba laptop recently in the US. I was working there I damaged my laptop and needed a quick replacement. However, once I returned to the UK, it developed a screen issue and Toshiba in the UK won't deal with it. I have to send it back to the US for warranty repair.

Had a similar problem with Apple, after they themselves replaced my iPhone under their device insurance when it was damaged during hurricane Irene!

Asus on the other hand I had no problems with. I bought a GTX960 some time back in the US and had an issue with it here in the UK and they were happy to deal with it!

So really its the luck of the draw. Some will, some won't!
