Today I was playing some H1Z1 and noticed that my core clock was at 540Mhz and was not changing. I was also experiencing a low framerate. The card I'm running (Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970) has a base clock of 1375 Mhz. Is this something to do with drivers? Also, at one point while gaming, the screen turned black but then recovered.

My specs are:

Intel Core i5 4590

ASRock H97M-Pro4

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3

Corsair CX-750M 750Watts

Any help would be appreciated.

Temps?

Try updating/downgrading your drivers too.

(I've got the same card, same ram, and an i5 4690K, and the corsair cx600m, haven't had any core clock issues, using latest drivers that I know of)

I had the same problem.

Right click on your desktop and go to Nvidia control panel. Then Manage 3D Settings. Select H1Z1 in the program settings (You might need to Add it). Then scroll down to Power management mode and change it to prefer maximum performance.

I'll try that now and let you know if it made any difference.

Go to 3d settings and instead of going to the game, stay on global settings and go to power management mode and make it Max performance, also do you have an overclock software installed? ex EVGA precision X or Asus GPU tweak, MSI afterburner.

Are you using msi afterburner? Sometimes it gets stuck and you need to restart it. Clock gets back to normal too.

Happens to me sometimes when rendering and the drivers crash, does a full restart help?
