Be sure to check CCC>Information>Hardware to make sure both cards are showing up correctly and that the second says "Linked Adapter". It may also be worth mentioning that Crossfire doesn't work in windowed or borderless modes. The program has to be fullscreen.

also what mobo are you using?

CF with a PCI-E X16 slot and a PCI-E X4 slot will not improve graphics performance

im using the updated drivers and mobo is a asrock extream 3 990fx. but i havent tryed installing the drivers with both cards in yet.

did you use PCI-E slot 2 and 3?

install the driver with one GPU

test OK

then install the second GPU and let the driver detect the 2nd GPU and it will install the correct driver

Do keep in mind that SLI/Crossfire with two cards doesn't mean doubling the frame rate. Also, compare the minimum you were getting.

As dragoon said, make sure you're using PCIe 2 and 3, not slot 4.

Unapologetic AMD fangirl. Yes, I'm biased. Yes, I know sometimes nVidia and/or Intel is an equal or better option. Yes, I try to keep it in check.

I still like AMD more.

You will still get a performance boost, just very little. I was thinking about getting a third GTX 970 but remember that I would have 2 of them running 4x and one on 8x so not really worth the extra $350. But like he said go to the BIOS and see if they are running x8 and x8, if not that is your problem. It wont double your FPS, but you should be getting more than a 10 FPS boost, but you said it was in Valley engine, so that might be why. How much FPS boost do you get in games? When I do 3D Mark test I only get ~10-20 FPS boost with SLI enabled. Try it on a game and see if you get more of a boost.
