hello i just build my very first pc as i wanted to boot it worked i was so excited!! until i tried to open my dvd drive and it didn't open i checked it several times i've tried every sata port did not work i have it plugged in my power supply 

 

my other question was can i put a windows 7 os on a usb stick and put it in my pc and let it install windows from the usb and how do i  do it it's a Gigabyte Z87-HD3

Sounds like your DVD drive is a a dud, assuming you bought it new for this build. If it was working before, I'm not sure what to tell you.

 

As for putting Windows 7 on a USB stick, you need to first create a .ISO image of your Windows 7 disk. From there, you can use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to create a bootable flash drive.
