SteamOS System? Using 4k television.

I'm using [http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-55EG9600-oled-4k-tv/URL] and wondering if the same rules apply toward a 4k monitor. Using SteamOS ( Linux Based Console OS ) would you need a beefy gpu to get good frame rates, and if so what GPU would you recommend? I will be using in home streaming for couple of games which doesn't require beefy gpu but I'm also going to use Steam Play games( actual downloaded games ). I'm in the price range of 1000 - 2000 New Zealand Dollars (756.10 USD - 1,512.20 USD)

I have seen Xbox able to play on 4k tv with far less powerful gpu than any Gtx 980

Can I have a link to this?
