I was planning to sticking to around a $1000 to $1300 budget, so I think I've done pretty well. I did have to cut down on the 120GB SSD I originally planned to have and I changed the graphics card from a gtx 970 to a 280x as I hear the gtx 970 is a bit overkill. Either way, I'll be buying the parts soon and I hope I can play new releases for the next few years.

I'd appreciate some feedback!

first of all your pc part picker link is broken(well comes to the home screen, not your list) and i would stay with the 970 it will defernetly be able to play new games for a year or so

But yeah fix the pc part picker link so We can help more

Ok, I fixed it. Not sure what was going on there, it worked for me. Anyway, I posted the permalink.

Also, everyone has been telling me that the 280x or the gtx 960 are worth getting and should be able to play new releases for the next few years.

This is what I would suggest

I have put in an overkill psu for overclocking the gpu and a z97 board if you want to upgrade to a k series sku

Also the beefier psu will allow for multiple gpu configs in the future
