I recently made a machine and installed ubuntu 14.04 on it. I overclocked my 5820k to 3.9gz and ran prime95 for 36 hours and then decided the system looked good. I also have 8gb at 2400mhz and a 500gb mushikin ssd

the issues began after i installed android studio and did some coding, i didnt run or build. After work I come home to find android studio had crashed and root directory was reporting that it was short on space. I find that i have 426 free space on root and decide that that is not the issue. However while searching for core dumps i find that android had some fairely large dumps at 39000mb and some that were 4800mb

later on i ran hdparm -Tt /dev/sda the results are

Timing cached reads: 2 MB in 26.98 seconds = 75.90 kB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 2 MB in 30.33 seconds = 67.52 kB/sec

My sata cords seem to be firmly connected but my boot speads, load speeds and web browsing speeds are horrid!

it was running just fine during the prime 95 test.

since i am new to linux all i can really do is trace my footsteps and all i did was install android studio and then found that it had crashed with reports of low partition space.

I am going to bed now and have work tomorrow but any suggestions would be very helpful. I am very upset at the moment.
