random shutdowns

Hello everyone. I've been experiencing random shutdowns on my pc a few minutes after start up. A few days ago the screen would go black for a few seconds then return with a pop up in the bottom left saying a video driver had failed. So I wiped the old drivers and reinstalled. that didn't work and now it just powers off completely and does not restart on its own, I need to press the power button to turn it back on. I did recently upgade my cpu, and install a new storage SSD, but the driver crashing was happening before that.

Sounds like it could be overheating, check for dust and that your fans are working well. Check your system temps too if possible.

 

Its possible if you have had new hardware that it is a Power issue what PSU do you have?

I'll check the system temps for sure.

The PSU is a coolermaster silent pro 600w.

I've re-installed a known good CPU cooler, and checked all the fans to make sure they are clean and turning.

 

I had a new CM Nepton 120XL installed previously, but its possible its DOA.
