I got an xfx 290 and a tri-x 290. I heard the tri runs cooler than average so would it make more sense to run that card as the primary? Since it will take most of the load, it will be the cooler card?
Yup. In theory the primary card will take most of the workload so for your case, use the tri-x as the primary card.
