Hi there @Georgeh1ll and welcome to the LinusTechTips forum!

 

What exactly do you mean with backing up data from two drives on one HDD? Basically speaking yes - you can use the drive to backup data from numerous drives.

 

As for an exact WD model recommendation, in case you're going to use it for backup mostly I would suggest WD Green since it's designed for that type of usage, but if you're planning to run programs from there as well as from your SSD, then you can take a look at WD Black if it's performance you're after, or WD Blue if it's going to be used for everyday computing. Thanks mate I want to get a hard drive as well as my ssd for storage, probably a 1tb drive. So I was wondering can I back up both my SSD and 1tb hdd on like a 2tb hdd? Thanks

 

Yes, you can manually backup data from both drives on your third one. :)

Yes you can do that. If you use a program to back up your drives, make sure to select both of the drives and all files types so it backs up EVERYTHING. That last part is important
