I have recently been having problems with my apu's heats, it is an AMD A8-5600k and i am running it with a GTX 960 and i've disabled the integrated graphics. My idle temperatures are 70-80 degrees Celsius and on load get even worse, around 90-100. This is very disconcerting as other owners of this apu report load temps of around 60. I have replaced my thermal compound and my GPU also isnt the cause as it stays at around 30-35 degrees. Any help would be really appreciated as i cant seem to find a fix. Thanks

I havnt touched the speeds

Then I would try getting a different cpu cooler if you can, APU's tend to run hot to begin with

Open task manager and see what kind of background application usage you have, something has to be eating your cpu up for idle temps like that

No not particularly, at the moment i'm at 40% usage and i'm on 75 degrees. Also i would have thought there would be more to it than just the stock cooler, i think it's probably good enough to at least prevent thermal throttling.

What's your case layout like?

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

What are you checking temps with and can I have a screenshot? FM2 temp sensors are for the most part; broken.

stock cooler would not have those crazy temps.

either fan is not spinning, cooler is not mounted correctly, or something is defective.

theres hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of APUS running on a stock cooler, so that is not the issue
