New Mid-Range Headphones: Help!

Hey all, so I am looking at buying a new headset that is in the 100-150 dollar range since my Razer Blacksharks broke (RIP in peace). After doing some research the one that stuck out to me was the Sennheiser PC 350 SE, but a challenger approached which is the Mad Catz F.R.E.Q. 7. I do not know which one to pick or whether I should a get a completely different headset. As always mic quality and sound quality or a biggie so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I love my corsair h1500s too

dont the ear pads love anything like dust or fluff.. spent an hour deep cleaning them grr!

I have heard a lot of good things about the HyperX Cloud II... that may be a better option. I want to know how they stack up against the Sennheiser PC 350 SE though

I'd go sennhiser HD 558's (or similar) and an Antlion modmic. Check out massdrop for some great deals on some good kit.

 

Cans are far better quality and the antlion mic is good quality. I'll never buy another headset (had a few in all ranges up to €150 inc Corsair 1st gen headset and Tritton 5.1's.. And some senhiser set.. they were good but also not as good as cans)

AKG K553 For $120 on massdrop (RRP $299).. These aren't even released yet!!

Also Antlion Modmic 4.0 is $35, Thats right on your budget and a much better quality of sound than you'd get from a Headset.

The only criticism I've heard of the modmic is that it could do with some cable management but IMO you can just twist the 2 wires to keep them from being an annoyance.

I think I am going to spring for AKGs on Massdrop, then just pick up a modmic. The AKGs seem to be the best overall, unless someone wants to challenge that

Honestly, I'm both jealous of and glad I don't live in the states.. Otherwise I'd spend all my money on Lootcrate and Massdrop.. :\\
