Your version of the 970 has one 6 pin PCIe connector and one 8 pin PCIe connector, which means it should consume a decent amount of power. Even though it has better power management and consumes a lot less power than the 980, it still consumes a lot of power. This power supply has more than enough and should be able to handle SLI if you go that route(Plus it has a $30 rebate going on right now which makes it $49.99 :))

My rule of thumb is that if the psu doesn't have enough power connectors for your gpu, that probably means you should be using a psu with more wattage. Of course, if it's just older but high capacity, then simple adapters to 6/8pin will do the trick.
