after my msi a78m-e35 broke and took my graphics card with it i saved up my money and went with a better a88x board by gigabyte and get another 4gb stick since i plan on gaming and just 4gb is not enough. i got it to boot into linux but when i try windows 7, it crashes every time and it wont let me use start up repair. help?

yes a new chipset can mean you have to do a full reinstall. if you back up your data by plugging the drive into another pc first then re install windows, then put the data back on it should be fine :)

First of all, 4GB is enough for gaming in most cases. 8GB will just give your typical applications and rendering software a little boost.

Don't try installing more than one operating system on one hard drive. 98% of the time it won't work. So uninstall any drivers that you installed when you had Linux. After that just boot into Windows and create a partition on your hard drive and continue setup. This should work.
