WMI Provider Host problem

Hi guys, for a couple of months, my CPU is running very high (45 to 65% at idle). The process using all the CPU is WMI Provider Host. I've already tried following a couple of tutorials online including a windows re-install and nothing worked. This is very frustrating because that when I'm using more CPU (ex: playing BF4), the CPU spikes to 98-100% which lags the game and sometimes even crashes it. Could someone possibly help me? Thanks a lot guys!

Setup:

motherboard: Asrock Z77 extreme

CPU: i5-3570k

GPU: GTX 760

RAM: 16gb

OS: Windows 8.1

BTW: Could someone please tag this guy, I dont know how to tag him on this post: TDP_equinox

Thanks again!

try turning off some background processes

if this is adware

Download and run:
ADWCleaner
Adware-removal-rool
Combofix
Hitmanpro
RogueKiller
MSE
Malwarebytes
and Spybot S&D 1.6.2

Run them all as an admin.

What do you mean by turning off background processes? Like blocking WMI Provider Host? Tryied it and programs didn't opened anymore, but CPU usage was back to 2-3% at idle. I'll try these programs, thanks, appreciate it!

So I'm going to tell you basically what epicdude7623 told you to do, but with links.

First, remove any third party anti virus'.
Avast, AVG, Norton, Mcafee, etc. Get rid of it.

Second, download, and run all of these tools as an admin.

Adware-Removal-Tool

ADWCleaner
Combofix (doesn't run on windows 8.1 yet)
HitmanPro
JRT
MBAM
RogueKiller
SCC
Spybot
and TDSSKiller.

Now, my tools folder is a little out of date, so click yes to the updates on all of these, as you run them.

After this, reset all your browsers to default and remove any bad plugins.

Run CCleaner and reboot once more.

Do all your windows updates, and for good measure, open up an admin CMD prompt and type "SFC /Scannow" without quotes.

I've tryied all the programs epicdude sent me and none of them worked... I dont know if that's related, but I ONLY use google chrome as a browser and there are no tool bars or add-ons on it... I'll try the CCleaner!

Thanks

Dan

BTW: I've added a new screenshot on my first post showing wich process I need to suspend in order for my CPU usage to get back to 2-3%

I would also suggest you run “System Maintenance”.
Follow these steps:
a.       Press “Windows key + W” from keyboard.
b.      Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the search box and hit enter
c.       From “Troubleshooting” windows click “View all” option from the left panel.
d.      In the list of options, click on “System maintenance”.
e.      Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Sorry for the delay, but after trying all the software, nothing worked and I was kinda tired of installing all these things. I ended up formatting my C drive. Just had the trouble of having to re-install evrything, but now it's all fine! Ready for water cooling and OK soon!

Thanks a lot guys!

Dan

How do I do that?

At the bottom right of any post there is a "Mark Solved" option.
