I've decided to upgrade my audio solution...by going back down to just 2 speakers. Mind you this going from a crappy 5.1 own-brand system I bought from Currys a few years back. Thanks to a lot of advice from @ShearMe, he told me to get the speakers first. And then if I need upgrade the audio source on my PC, I will do.

He also told me to avoid the "made for PC" systems, and look at bookshelf speakers instead...and I shall. And Q Acoustics will be my choice, because I have some for my home cinema and they're awesome.

But, I'm not sure whether I should get the active BT3s

Or get a pair of passive 2010i speakers and wire them up to an amp, like the Audioengine N22

I don't mind the cost of either option, but one has more features than the other.

So which one would be right for me. Thanks :)

If you don't mind price go with whatever gives you more options/features.

I think active BT3's should work out fine for you.

The BT3's...might get them after Easter.

2 weeks ago I bought a cheap pair of speakers from curry's, the Edifer M1380 2.1 speakers, its sold as PC speakers but are surprisingly good for its size and price.  They only have 28 Watts total power but you get a good sound for the small package.

Going from the Logitech Z623 2.1 speaker system to the smaller Edifer M1380 2.1 speaker system I only lost some base but over all the M1380 in my option gives a better sound for gaming and its a big improvement over the Z623 for music.

Here's a link to the speakers on Curry's website http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/accessories-and-bags/pc-speakers/edifier-m1380-2-1-pc-speakers-13406872-pdt.html

Hmm...don't really what that. I really want these...in fact, once things have been sorted out, the Q Acoustics BT3 active speakers will be the next audio upgrade, in black.
