Hello,

I'm just looking for some help on building a gaming rig soon. Looking at the FX 6300 for the cpu, the ga-970a-ud3p for the mobo, 8 gigs of kingston fury black at 1866mhz, crucial bx100 250 gig drive for OS, GTX 960 windforce from gigabyte, a evga 500B for the psu, and the thermaltake h35 for my case. If any one has an Intel option that also comes out at $650 USD and allows me to upgrade to a core i5 4690k or a better chip, please leave the specs for that. Thank you for your time, and appreciate the feedback.

Looking at 1080p, because I already have a monitor that my friend is giving me only plan on having one monitor for now, I've decided on the deathadder for my mouse, don't know about the keyboard yet. My laptop isn't cutting it for gaming anymore with a R7 m260 and i74510u

A gaming rig does not use AMD for the processor

What would you recommend then, im looking at about $650 US for the entire rig.

Try to squeeze a 280x into your rig if not a 280. The 280 has similar performance as the 960 but cheaper. I just think the 960 is a bit overpriced

like a 4130, or something with a higher base clock?

At your budget, you should probably find what is cheapest but still performs alright. the 4130 would be a great choice if you can afford it

Quick comment, a gaming rig can most definitely use an AMD processor, in fact, they are optimal for lower price builds, although if you can afford the 4690k, make sure to change your motherboard to something with the correct socket, depending on what you choose.

Quick question, do you know of a good $60 case?

I recommend you look around as cases are mostly personal preference
