is there a way to down load pf sense off the website and run it as the main os and delete everything else  like steam os does

 

Yes? Put it on a USB stick or burn the ISO to a disk and install it.

If you just want to have a look at it you could try it in a VM but you'll need a USB stick or CD/DVD to install it on a computer.
