Very Slow Verizon LTE?

tareyza

So, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon's network. I recently ran the Ookla Speedtest and found that I scored.... a whopping 2.31Mbps down and 2.23Mbps up. These numbers seem a lot lower than I was expecting, is there any particular issue that might be causing this slower internet. I should note that I have a data-capped plan, not an unlimited plan, but I am currently nowhere near my cap.

Cap is just total amount, not on bandwidth. I get close to 40 down in a minor city, 20 up.

It may just be your area of service.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Yea, I just mentioned the data limit because I've heard that unlimited can sometimes have throttling.

It really depends on your location. At where I live, Verizon is probably the worst carrier. I have a really weak LTE signal inside my house and it would frequently drop to 3G to 1x. In pretty much every underground parking lot in the area, Verizon would only have 1 bar of 1x compared to 3-5 bars of LTE on T-Mobile. However, do compare with someone else that's also on Verizon in the same area. Sometimes, your phone might act up and you may experience subpar performance.
