My cpu cooler is a corsair h100i. I used the cooler with its stock thermal paste that is supposed to be shin ensure. Some months later I had to change my case so I had to remove the cooler. Because of so I changed the thermal paste to noctua nt-h1.

After I did this the performance of the cooler dropped because it reached 5 degree higher temps at load and the idle temps are worse, but what concerns me is that now it takes a long time for the cooler to reduce the temperature after load the idle.

I have seen reviews showing that the nt-h1 is better than shin etsu in all aspects but the noctua actually performs worse. Is this norma, should I buy shin etsu and use it instead? Or Is there some other paste that performs better.

I would like to add that I have correctly installed the cooler and tried different ways to apply thermal paste but the results are the same. A final thing to mention is that every time I cleaned the thermal paste the copper in the h100i had a black lump where the paste was.

Is there a physical lump (bigger than 1mm)? Or is it just leftover residue that's more or less cosmetic.
