Now, i have a pretty solid pc,

a 4770K

and gtx 780

16gb ram

but i have a Gigabyte b85 mobo

Now i am planning to buy and Asus Rog maximus VII Hero

now this is where i need help, i was originally planning to buy this mobo so that in the future i could sli my graphics card with another 780

but after paying for the motherboard it will take me a while to afford  to buy another 780 off my friend, so i am going to ask,

is it worth upgrading the motherboard so that in the future i could buy 2 graphics cards later and still stick with my cpu/mobo/ram

or just to wait a year and a bit to just buy a new pc in whole?

First of all, do you really need maximus hero? You coud get a Z97 SLI capable mobo for as little as 120$. Second, the 4770k is still a beast of a cpu, and will be for a few years, so no need to change that anytime soon. You should change the mobo for now, the 780 is also very good at the time, especially if you play on 1080p screen. And in a year or so, when the 780 becomes weak for the newest AAA titles, you could add another one, or even better, sell the 780 and buy a new gpu. The rest of the system should be good for the next 2-3 years.
