Memory Mhz?

So i know linus made a video about it but i´ve seen many builds now with different kinds of 16gb rams.

 

Would someone be so kind explaining to me which is best for gaming;

 

for the arguably most famous/bought cpu´s (i7 4790k, i5 4690K)

if there is a difference on what they can handle..

i would say 1600mhz is enough for gaming anymore would be for heavy work imo. 8gb sweetspot for games.

 

Ram speeds depends on mobo

There are not such big differences in terms of fps between faster ram, maybe 1-2 depending on the game. Anyways, a 1600mhz will do just fine with any cpu but you can always go up to 2400+ mhz but thats not worth it imo, rather spend that money on a better gpu, cpu, mobo or case

For gaming it plain doesn't matter. Anything above 1333mhz cas 9 is fine.

Above 1866 MHz, you start trading off timings for frequency and don't have any noticeable performance increase.
