refurbished graphic cards

would anybody  recommend factory refurbished graphic cards, if for example sapphire r9 280x as low as 160$ offer?

or any experience with such things,

My old 7770 was a refurb was perfectly fine only the manual and a cable was missing hence the price.

with amd cards its iffy because they might have been used for mining so shorter life for them but a 280x for !60 go for it

^this was what I was getting at. I bought a used 280x that after use I think was used for mining. It ended up breaking

 

You probably just had a bad card. Even a card that was heavily used for mining will last way longer than you need it to it wont just croak for no reason.

Is this buying from a store/site or just a guy? As I wouldn't recommend used but don't think that's what you mean?

 

well, its a site, a reputable one in my country, 

actually i usually go for only new, because one would never know what kind of abuse it had, but this price tag is attractive.

The only thing that isn't used in my build is the CPU, and that's because I live near a Microcenter.
