What do I keep?

My LG G3 has been messing up and I took it to AT&T to have the OS re-written. They said if it messes up anymore then to call them and they will send me a like new LG G3 without the battery or back cover so I should keep the cover and battery I have. I was wondering if I should also keep the SIM card in the phone I have now.
