Skype Desktop App not working

So, my friend showed me how to change the icon recently on stuff, and showed me a few really cool ones, so there's one for skype and I'm all like, Ay yo lets replace this. So I did, but for 'Skype for Desktop' it didn't work. My friend shows me that there's that app built into windows. So I launch that, and it doesn't work.... I try again, still doesn't work.

 

It's stuck on this screen

same here, just keep using the desktop version instead of the app

Just don't use the app. Use the desktop version.
