RAM Frequency and APUs

Go to solution Solved by IP man,

933 x 2 = 1866

Thats the way it is :) perfectly normal

Hi, I just finished my APU build, and after getting an 1866MHz single stick of RAM, I notice it only runs half (933 MHz). I was wondering on where is the other half? Is it used by the system, or it can't be used at all?

And also, Does upgrading my RAM to 8GB (planning to buy in two weeks) will increase the performance of integrated GPU alot?

the ram speed is deceptive. ram speed is actually around half of whatever advertised.

So I need to really get another 4GB stick of 1866 to run it perfectly?

And also, how will it affect the iGPU performance?

Yea...it will help out... also it would help to allocate some ram to the APU.

How do I allocate RAM to APU? Is it on the BIOS?

I don't have an APU but I would think so, Intel Integrated Graphics is like that.

I used to have an Intel Integrated Graphics. Though, I can't fix its RAM allocation on the BIOS...
