The question is in the title! :D

I've got some money now that i want to spend on the most sensible thing for my birthday

  1. Mayflower O2+Odac with a Samsung 850 evo 250GB
  2. Nvidia GTX 980
  3. Nvidia GTX 970 with the SSD mentioned above

(1)The first one is good 'cause i bought a HIFIMAN HE-400i and i don't have an SSD yet, which would be a huge improvement to my otherwise flawless PC.

(2)EXCEPT, my PC has an old and weak VGA which wont hold up when playing Witcher 3! I would go with the 980 to be able to play Witcher 3 on high-max settings,

(3)However! If a 980 can't handle single handedly Witcher 3, it doesnt even make much sense to buy one, instead of a 970 and a blazing fast SSD!

Indeed the best would be all three but i can't afford it! My budget is about the price of a 980.

Thanks for the help! :)

I would say 1 Or 2.

The 970 is Great for the money, And a 980 without a SSD sounds like a weird combo.

The recommend for Witcher 3 is a 770 right? a 970 or 990 should be able to single hand take care of the game.

Now for your choice... I'd say go with 3. 980 isnt that much better than a 970 to worth the extra price IMO.

I want to move ALL MY DATA to SSD, to make my PC faster and (for me) even importantly quieter, the size of the SSD should not be lowered IMO

Misconception :3 You should install the OS only, along with a few number of program that can actually benefit from running on SSD into it. Everything else like movie, picture, games etc would run fine on a HDD and wont change all that much compare to running on HDD anyway. And the HDD will still be spinning even if most of your data is in SSD~

BTW, if your HDD is that loud, your should check if something is wrong with it. Most HDD are all pretty quiet.
