Hi, I've never built a computer, not even changed the memory of the ones I bought. There is no much variety in brands in online shopping, not to mention buying locally. My question is if this is a decent build? is there something wrong?

- Intel Core i5-4440 Processor

- Asus Z97-PRO GAMER Motherboard

- Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III

- Kingston HyperX 16gb (2x8gb) PC3 1600MHz DDR3

- Asus AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB 256-bit GDDR5, PCI Express 3.0

- Cooler Master V650 Semi-Modular

Whats your budget , location ? Also , fit a GTX 970 or R9 290 in there and you'll be fine .

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

Could you tell us :

Do you have a monitor, if so, what resolution?

What games do you play/ plan on playing?

What is your budget?

What do you do on your pc when you're not killing scrubs?

yes, I have a monitor (LCD 2560x1440), this build will be for gaming (Rome II Total War, FallOut, Skyrim, Battlefield, Crysis, etc). My budget is around US$850. I´ll proceed to buy the stuff on monday :S, thanks in advance

Around 850 US, if I buy a GTX 970 I´ll have to buy a cheaper model of the others (which one?). I´m living on the far side of Mexico :(

It's kinda weird to see a PC at this budget running a 1440p monitor though... either way any 970 should be ok, you dont have to worry about model that much since 970 is pretty cool so even stock cooler is good enough for it.

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log

Ok, I'll wait and save a little more for the 970. Thanks

Running 1440p games on a 270 will not be a pleasant experience.

If you believe you'll have enough money soon to buy hardware for running games 1440p at higher settings (970 or 980), definitely go for it, but a 970 will be perfect for 1080p gaming, cranking up all settings.

You could sell the monitor, and get a 1080p one, but tbh, that's kinda lame.

You´re right, its lame. I´ll keep the monitor. Purchasing a 970 in here cost around 480US + shipping. I´ll buy only 8 gb of RAM, and save for a better GPU. Thanks!
