You haven't exactly listed the temps, or the kind of overheating.

 

Is your CPU hitting 95c or more?

Is your GPU overheating?

Is the outer of the laptop just really hot?

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

is just goes into a thermal shut down when I play a game like football manager when idle I get a max of 50c underload for 15mins it goes to 70-75

its well over due for a little service also my laptop has a uma graphics.

75 degrees is not enough for thermal shutdown. That's 100 degrees or more.
