Hey I've just installed a new mobo and a Intel i5 processor, I'm at the BIOS screen now and I'm idleing at 56 degrees and its slowly going up, the heatsink seems to be installed correctly as it is tight. I'm using the stock Intel cooler btw

Did you apply the thermal compound correctly? If you put too much, it actually hurts cooling.

I used the stock cooler so the thermal compound was already applied, I have some aftermarket ones though

Huh... okay...

Just let it run as normal. Let it climb. See how far it goes. If it gets to 85º, shut the PC down, something is VERY wrong.

Fan speed doesn't seem to change when I put it in manual mode. The CPU upper temperature is at 40, the CPU fan Max duty cycle is at 100, the CPU lower temp is at 20 and the CPU main duty cycle is at 20

I have no idea on what a "duty cycle" is.. So long as the CPU doesn't hit 80ºC, you are fine.

The actual temp is roughly 60 degrees but I was reading that from the monitor CPU section

As I expected, the fan wasn't installed correctly. I removed the heatsink and it still has the thermal paste on the bottom untouched, the CPU doesn't have any on it either. God these push pins are annoying
