My first AM3+ build

Go to solution Solved by IP man,

Yes AM3 works in AM3+

Hello everyone! I just recently picked up a MSI 760GM-E51 motherboard for $30 and have decided use the board to upgrade my HTPC (Currently using a Dell 760 full size tower). So my question here is, would I be fine with just getting a little dual core since I won't be gaming much on it and I'm pairing it up with a HD 5450. Also would a AM3 cpu would fine in a AM3+ board? I can easily pick up a AMD Athlon II X2 B24 for $20 but I want to make sure it works fine. Thanks for any help!

Yeah that CPU will work in your motherboard.
